Increment / decrement operator

These operator are also called unary operator. They acts upon the single operand. The increment operator (++) causes its operand to be increased by one where as the decrement operator (--) causes its operand to be decreased by one.
Increment/decrement operator comes in two varieties:
  • Prefix version: (++a, --a)
  • Postfix version: (a++, a--)
